Antwerp is a very beautiful city, where you can find a lot of interesting places to see- museums, buildings, the cathedral, and of course discos. You should be the member of the ESN (Erasmus Student Network), and you will get useful information about the next parties and they also organise other programs such us sport activities, trips and guided tours.
And of course if you are in Antwerp, you also have to visit Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and one of the Belgian coasts, e.g. Ostend. You can easily reach these cities by train which is really cheap if you by GO PASS ticket.
Living costs were in my case estimated about 450-500 euro per month. I paid 200 euro for a room (it was quite comfortable) and the other 250-300 for eating, alcohol, clothes.
If you cannot speak Dutch, you have to save money, because it is very difficult (almost impossible) to find a student job for someone, who can speak only English.
The great thing in Antwerp is that mostly everywhere you can arrive walking, and if you have a bicycle you are independent on buses or trams. Me and my bike were best friends in this city- together going to school, party, to meet my friends, for go shopping or just for fun. In Budapest with a bicycle I would be killed in 15 min. as the drivers have no respect for people on bike. So if you go to Antwerp as an Erasmus student, the best thing that you can do to rent a bike for your staying.
Finally the people- I'm sure that contact with people from all the Europe was for me the greatest experience that will last. I've learnt a lot about different cultures, we were going out together and having a lot of fun.
I hope, one day we can all meet again!
