Hungary has about 10 million inhabitants and 2 million of them live in the capital city, Budapest. For historical reasons (see the Treaty of Trianon), significant Hungarian minority populations can be found in the surrounding countries. Is a landlocked country in the Carpathian Basin of Central Europe, bordered by Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. Our mother-tongue is Hungarian. Budapest is divided into two parts by the River Danube: Buda and Pest. Budapest, the "Pearl of the Danube", has wonderful panorama which is on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
After all I would like to say about the school. Well it's quite different from my Hungarian university. Károli Gáspár University has four Faculties (Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Law and State Sciences, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Teacher Training) and offers various degree programmes.
There are 2600 students at the University which is located in the centre of
Budapest. The academic year at KGU is divided into two semesters; the
Autumn semester from September to December and the spring semester
from January to May.
This is my last year at Károli Gáspár University, Faculty of Law. It was quite new for me to study communication for one semester, but it was really interesting. Our faculty is much smaller and familiar then Plantijn, but Plantijn is better equipped (with multimedia facilities) and it has a huge agora where students usually organise some activities.
The contact with the teachers also was different; at Plantijn it is more direct and informal- which I think is a good idea.
